IMPORTANT NOTICE - We are closed until mid March for the first phase of the construction of our new Terrace Restaurant. However our Bar remains open on Fridays and Sundays from 8.30pm during this period.

The new Terrace Restaurant will cater for up to 120 daytime wedding guests. It will open out through french doors on to terracing with views over our gardens and be available for hire from June 2010 onwards.

Our next phase of work will include the total refurbishment of our current restaurant which will seat up to 40 diners and have the addition of new toilet facitilities. We would like to thank the residents of Ainstable for their support during our planning application process and building work.

The Heather Glen is a beautiful Victorian country house set in 2 and 1/2 acres of grounds set high above the lovely village of Ainstable. The village lies in the heart of the beautiful Eden Valley, just 20 minutes drive from Penrith, the gateway to the Lake District.

The Heather Glen, or the Glen as it is affectionally known locally, is a warm and friendly venue ideally suited for your wedding or any celebration. You and your guests will enjoy a warm and relaxed atmosphere in our lovely country home.

Good food is an important part of any wedding. The best fresh local produce is used wherever possible, and should our menu choice not be entirely suitable, we will try to create an individual menu on request. Our wine menu list has been carefully selected to offer good quality, easy drinking wines at sensible prices.

On first entering the Glen you will enjoy the comfort of our reception lounge where you may welcome your guests, and enjoy the log fire in winter months. You then move on to our spacious lounge bar where we serve drinks, and opposite lies our restaurant which seats 100 for a served meal, with views over the valley. In summer we serve drinks on our terrace area overlooking the village and gardens.

We offer a range of buffets for evening parties that are ideal as a supplement to the main meal earlier in the day, particularly if you plan to invite additional guests. Again our Chef Robert is very happy to discuss your requirements with you. As an addition, if your party numbers 80 or over we give exclusivity at no extra charge. The Glen is yours for your friends and family to enjoy together. Should your number be less we are happy to offer this as an optional extra at a reasonable cost.

We aim to offer the very highest level of service and comfort. We have built our reputation through a flexible and enthusiastic approach to our business, and our own special brand of friendly and smiling service.
